Senior Product Designer · Berlin, DE
I lead product design for complex systems — the kind where the stakes are high, the users are diverse, and the technical constraints are real. For over a decade, I've worked at the intersection of AI, government digital services, and accessibility in Germany and the UK.
I started in fine arts in England — then pivoted into visual effects in London, including early work on the Harry Potter films. I moved to Berlin in 2002, and spent the next two decades building digital products here.
Over time my work shifted from visual craft to systemic thinking — from making things look right to making complex systems work for the people who depend on them. Government digital services gave me the training ground: high stakes, real users, zero margin for error.
I completed an MA in Design for Responsible AI, which sharpened my understanding of the structural risks in AI-driven products and gave me a research framework for the work I do today.
I'm at my best in products where design decisions have real consequences — healthcare apps, public digital services, AI systems that affect vulnerable populations. I understand both the design and the governance layer, which is still a genuinely rare combination.
My signature achievement is leading Germany's first BITV-certified government app (i-Kfz) with over a million downloads — scaling the team from 6 to 64 people while keeping the product coherent, accessible, and approvable.
I also facilitate. I design and run workshops that move teams from blockers to breakthroughs — for cross-border government projects, health tech startups, and everything in between. I work in English and German equally.
